US coins are continually going up in value. Imagine the life of unburied coins such as these. The Buffalo Nickel is "no date", the shiny 1975 penny is "post-mint" plated (chrome?), and the dull 1970 penny is also "post-mint" plated (aluminum?). Sometimes pennies were used to learn plating back in the old science classroom laboratory, or they were plated by someone trying to be tricky for reselling.
